Math 10 FPC: April 16 ~ Substituition

Hey class

The scavenger hunt was a lot of fun today. Thanks for participating. Ill try and make up more things to do in the future that end up in candy.

The only homework tonight is what has been assigned so far.

Remember, The only 2 homework checks that I will do are:
– The words System of Equations work sheet
– 9.1 Substituition homework

I think I was a little too eager for the test date. Lets plan for Thursday of Next week for the Test date for Chapter 8 + 9.

All for now

Math 10 AW: April 16 ~ 4.4 Area conversions

Have fun everyone who will be going to the Art Museum tomorrow instead of class.

Today’s homework is from Section 4.4 on p 101 Q 1-4.

Remember, you can convert linear units such as cm to m by multiplying one line.
When you have area units you have to multiply by two lines and two conversions.

See you tomorrow. We will try to have some fun in class tomorrow for the rest of us that don’t get to see the art museum. I promise it will include candy.

Math 10 A/W: April 11 ~ Chapter 4.1

Class was a little different today. You have to be able to use your imagination to figure out some referents for which you can base your estimations.

Now that we are onto Area dont forget that Area = length x width (A = l x w)

As an application of these principles, check out:

Things are pretty high tech nowadays, but if you went back even 50 years and asked a forester how he measured the proposed cut block, he would have likely given you an answer based on his strides. Ie: 1200 strides by 4500 strides, which correlates to about 1200 yds by 4500 yds or 5,400,000 yds square. From this, he could esitmate the value of timber on that land and give his recommmendation to the loggers that would apply for the wood rights of that land.

Interesting stuff eh!

Math 10 FPC: April 11 ~ Chapter 8 Quiz

You guys Rock!

Enjoy the Sunshine this weekend! Great thing about quizzes on a Friday is that there isn’t any homework for the weekend.

If you had some difficulty with the Quiz today, go back over the homework for the sections that gave you the most difficulty and try some more questions. If that fails you, try coming to see me during lunch or after school.

Cool website that can help you do the graphing so that you don’t have to:

https://www.desmos.com/calculator

https://www.wolframalpha.com/

These shouldn’t be a substitute for knowing how to graph properly, but they can help you check your graphs.

See you Monday, If you didnt finish your quiz, come see me at Lunch time to finish your quiz.

Math 10 FPC: April 10 ~ Systems Word problems. Quiz Tomorrow!

Hey everyone.

The worksheet that I handed out today is for homework. Remember, you only have to solve the systems of equations if it asks or if you want to prove your supernatural graphing powers! As long as you write the equations that you would graph, preferably in the slope-intercept form, thats all the worksheet requires.

Forgot to scan the assignment but will post tomorrow if you missed it.

DONT Forget, we have a systems quiz tomorrow on the sections we have covered so far.

Hope you have been doing some homework so far.

see you tomorrow
