Do you find these type of questions difficult? Lets try some tactics to make it easier to grasp. First you should find a highlight or two or different colours.
- Read the question once over to gain an overall perspective.
- Reread the questions carefully using one highlighter to highlight info that is used to create the first equation.
- continue reading using the other colour to highlight info for the 2nd equation.
- Write your equations out being careful to read the cues in the sentence: ie “4 less means” subtract 4. “6 times the other number” means muliply that number by 6.
- Solve using substitution or elimination.
